Corey Perry is the latest victim of the West Virginia River Rats’ rebuild. The winger, who has 12 goals and 27 points in 40 games so far this season, is off to Winnipeg in exchange for a first round pick in 2017.
It’s the second big deadline move for the Falcons, who are in the thick of the playoff hunt. Perry will likely join Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin on a potent top line. Meanwhile, the River Rats now have three picks in the first round of the next rookie draft.
