The West Virginia River Rats have acquired veteran centre Jonathan Toews from the Delta Sturgeon. Toews’ offense has fallen off — he had just 11 goals in 82 games for Delta this past season — but his defensive acumen and elite ability in the faceoff circle will be a big help in supporting the talented River Rats forward group as they look to bounce back from a somewhat disappointing postseason. In return, the Sturgeon receive a 2nd round rookie pick, 43rd overall.
